I’m looking for a wide angle (preferably fisheye) lens for my canon eos 1000d dslr. I’ve read a few reviews on canon fisheyes and wide angle lenses, and aparrently their no use for aps-c frames only full-frame cameras. I’m bit of a beginner and only have 1 lens so far, so help would be much appreciated-
Is there any point in getting a fisheye for an aps-c camera?
If so, any lenses that you would reccomend?

There are like 6 different options for your 1000D (APS-C).

From Canon, Sigma and Tokina.

I have a normal digital camera (Konica Minolta X60) however I am now looking at DSLR cameras.. I could do with some help as to what make I should go for (Pentax, Samsung, Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, Sigma) I don’t know how to use all those different zooms however I am really keen to learn as I love taking pictures!

My Canon EOS 550D DSLR camera will not turn on.

If i remove the SD card, turn off the camera, remove the battery, then re-put it back in, the camera will turn on fine, however obviously without the SD card inserted, i cannot take pictures/film videos.

When i open the SD card slot, the camera turns off again and will not turn on. ive tried removing the battery, re-inserting it, etc and the camera will not turn on under any circumstances while an SD card is inserted.

I have tried using 3 different SD cards, none were successful. the camera will only seem to turn on if no SD card is inserted, and i remove and re-insert the battery prior to removing the SD card.

The camera was working fine yesterday, it has been firmly inserted onto my tripod, therefore it hasnt moved, been damaged, or tampered with over-night.

This problem has randomly sprung up today, ive tried re-charging the battery, trying different camera modes, different SD cards, and no change. ive searched everywhere online for solutions, nobody seems to have the same problem as me.

I bought the camera Brand New on Ebay from a very trusted seller who has sold 150+ Canon EOS 550D’s. it was working fine for months and now today seems to be “broken”.

Ive tried resetting the available settings on the camera while no SD card is inserted, no difference. How can i fully reset the camera to factory settings without the use of a SD card? because the firmware is on the SD card, so in order to reset it, wont i need it?

Need help badly, as i need to use my camera for work. need advice/solutions!
ive just discovered, that it will work with a SanDisk SDHC card.

but when ive been using two Transcend SDHD cards for months and months, neither of these are now working. ideas?

What equipment or accessories to buy for a intermediate photographer, i have taken photos for loacal businesses and people, nothing big though.

I basically just have a Canon DSLR with 18-55, 50mm f1.8, 55-200mm lens, and a battery grip.

I feel that i need some filters, however i dont know which ones, i do alot of portraits and macro, and some landscape photography, if that helps.

What are other small, not too expensive things i can buy .. ?

filters are a little redundant thanks to photo editing, not completely however given you need a set of filters for each lens size you have the cost can add up.
If you are doing portraits then you really could use a flash – even if your shots are outside it can be used as a fill flash (google it if not sure what it means).

yea however a 15.1 mp?..sheesh you might be able to take like 50 pictures , I’d go w/ any “platinum” lexar sd card they are made for HQ pictures and movies .99 for the 8 gig, they’re made for High capacity ,

I have just bought my very first DSLR camera (Canon 1000d), which i am very excited about. What would you recommend being the very basics for my kit? Then what would you suggest me buying to build up my kit? I am interested in landscape, travel, interiors photography.

I am a beginner to photography, so i have no experience in regards to f. stops, aperture, ISO etc (even though i have heard of them). Can you recommend any books/websites that will teach me the basics of photography?
I have already a tripod, which i picked up at a bargain price of £10.

Also the lens that came standard with the camera was a 18-55mm

I would recommend one fo your first purchases be a lens cleaning set, initially the lens the camera comes with should be fine as you can move closer and further away from your subject. to build on your kit i would recommend such things as, more lenses, lighting, lighting stands and lighting reflectors/umbrellas.
